Three Arrested In The 12-Year-Old Mandir, Masjid Arson Case

HAMILTON – HamiltonPolice says it has cracked a 12year old case of arson in thecity that took place in the wakeof Sept.11 attacks in the US.Chris pollard, 33, Scott Ryan,33, and Damien Marsh, 34, allface charge of arson. They arethe main accused in the arsonattack on Hamilton MountainMosque and the Hindu Samajtemple. The will also be prosecutedas hate crimes.While the attack led to the neardestruction of the Hindu SamajTemple on Twenty Road in theearly morning of Sept. 15,2001, causing half a milliondollars in damages, the mosque,on Stone church Road East,also suffered damage to thetune of five thousand dollars.Ironically, it was then believedto be an act inspired by theanti-Muslim sentiment followingSept.11, but the accusedcouldn’t differentiate between aHindu temple and a Mosque.
