Southern actressVandana Gupta is making hertelevision debut with theHindi show ” Teri Meri LoveStories”.She has enjoyed her stintso far on the small screen butis not open to playing typical’bahu’ in soaps.The 24-year-old, who isknown for her roles in films including”Thavam”, “Hyderabadi Nawabs”, “Ajantha” and “Hrudayadali Idenidu”,says she is open to television roles butonly those characters which she canrelate to.”I want to take up roles which supportmy real nature as well. I can’t dosomething which I can’t relate to. I don’twant to do a typical ‘bahu’ for sure,”Vandana told IANS and added: “I amworking in television for the first time.
Itwas just amazing.””Teri Meri Love Stories” is a 90-minute romantic telefilms series that airson Star Plus. Talking about her role inthe series, Vandanasaid: “My character is avery confident woman.She is humble, caringand loving and can handleany situation in herlife.”In the beginning,she was unsure aboutthe role, but now she isglad to be part of the Hindi televisionindustry. “Initially, I didn’t think I coulddo it. But then I thought that I could doso many things with my character andshowcase my acting. The whole experiencewas superb,” she said.
TV viewers are far better comparedto southern movie audiences, she feels.”When I did my first film, I wascrazy at that time. My heart was beatingso fast. I feel the same even now, thoughI have done 80 commercials and fivefilms. “But on television, the world connectswith you. Before this, I had doneonly southern films,which have a limitedaudience. I was a bit nervous,” she said.
