BATHINDA – The court ofAdditional Sessions Judge sentencedeight policemen, whowere found guilty of killing acity resident 22 years ago, to lifeimprisonment. The body hasnot been recovered till date.The victim’s relatives hadaccused the eight policemen ofarresting Paramjit Singh, killinghim and disposing of the body. Thecourt of MPS Pahwa also imposed a fineof Rs 10,000 on each policeman andordered that 15 per cent of the total finebe paid as compensation to thevictim’s family.The policemen’s counsel, advocateGurjeet Khadial, said thatthey would appeal in the highcourt that the “deceased”Paramjit was alive and spottedin Patna and Maharashtra bysome Bathinda residents.The accused include dismissedPunjab Police DSP Gurjit Singh (now aproclaimed offender), dismissedInspector Baljinder Kumar, ASI LakhvirSingh (now dead), ASI Gurbachan
