The Bombay High Courthas directed Mumbai police toadd the name of Yash Raj Filmsto a case filed in a copyrightinfringement row by a manclaiming to be the owner of thescript of Salman Khan-starrerEk Tha Tiger.A division bench of A MKhanwilkar and R Y Ganoodirected the Amboli police tomake Yash Raj Films an accusedin the case filed by AnandPanda.
Panda had moved the highcourt stating that the police wasrefusing to register FIR basedon his complaint against themakers of the Salman Khan andKatrina Kaif starrer Ek ThaTiger who allegedly infringedon his copyright.Panda had filed a complaintalleging offences of criminalbreach of trust, cheating andvarious other sections of theCopyright Act, 1957. AfterPanda approached the court,the police registered an FIR onSeptember 9.
However, YashRaj Films, the producers of themovie, were not named in theFIR.When the court wasinformed about this by Panda’slawyer, the bench directed theproduction house to be namedas an accused.Directing the police toinvestigate the case fairly, thecourt disposed of Panda’s petition.
