Besides being amuse for her favourite designers,the actress is now focusingon animal welfare activities.Her letter to the BrihanmumbaiMunicipal Corporation askingfor a ban on horse drawn carriagesin Mumbai was in thenews recently. “It is not justabout horses; I think any animaldeserves to be treated well.I was asked to join an NGOwhich works for animal welfareand I have agreed to join it,”she says.Zeenat has two dogs at herMumbai home and she adoresthem.
“One is a golden retrieverand the other a Labrador. Iguess it’s my involvement withthem which has made meunable to bear cruelty to animals.My family also shares myfeelings for animals and areaffected deeply by cruelty toanimals. I think it’s our responsibilityto take care of themwhen we share our planet withthem,” she says.
For the same reason,Zeenat has been a veggie all herlife and feels that when you eatan animal, all that ‘negativitygoes into your system’. “Butthat’s my point of view, and Iwouldn’t want to go deeply intoit as it’s a controversial subject,”she signs off.
