Mamta Foundation To Hold Fundraising Event For Abandoned Unwanted Girls In Punjab

SURREY – Together with the help of the Indo-Canadian community, media and businesses, Mamta Foundation of Canada held  fundraising dinners on April 14, 2010 and April 1st, 2011. These events were organized to raise funds to support the construction of an Ashram building called “Unique Home” for abandoned, unwanted and orphan girls in Jalandhar City, Punjab, India.

This Ashram is run by Bhai Ghanayya Ji Charitable Trust (Regd.) Punjab.The Mamta Foundation of Canada has sent 4 million (40 Lacs) rupees to India for this project. Thus far with support from the community, this organization also sent 700,000 (7 Lakh) rupees to “ Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra Society” in Kharar near Chandigarh, Punjab to support the construction of a home for 65 orphan and abandoned girls.

In order to maintain full transparency with the public, an official website has also been launched by this organization. As promised to donors, in order to provide full accountability for their donation money, the Mamta Foundation of Canada has posted on this website: a list of all donors’ names, total donations received, and all expenditures made by the organization. A copy of the bank draft and the letters and receipts received from “Bhai Ghanayya Ji Charitable Trust” and “Jyoti Sarup Kanya Asra society” to confirm that they have received all donation money, are also posted on this website.
