SUVA – Theft of mobile phones is on the rise in Fiji according to Police’s Cyber Crime Unit.
Fiji Police Force Chief Operations Officer ACP Henry Brown said that while they have recovered many phones, the problem arises when owners cannot provide the serial numbers.
These phones are then remained unclaimed.
ACP Brown added when stolen phones are activated, network providers can easily track the serial numbers and arrests and recovery can then be made.
