With just four weeks to go before the Manitoba provincial election on October 3, Manitoba’s political parties are winding up for a busy month in which they roll out a range of campaign promises and introduce their respective candidates.
It is interesting to note two Brars are against each other in Manitoba’s Burrows. While Diljeet Brar is the current MLA from Burrows. Diljeet grew up in Punjab, India, where he studied and taught at the Agricultural University. After immigrating to Manitoba he worked for the Department of Agriculture. He served as the NDP’s Critic for Agriculture. He also started volunteering with local youth leadership development programs and cultural shows and is passionate about building leadership skills for young people. In May 2022 he passed legislation to mark Turban Day and celebrate the significance of the turban to Sikh Manitobans.
Nav Brar from Progressive Conservatives is also fighting to be next MLA for Burrows . He is the child of immigrant parents who came to Canada for a better life.
His academic background is in Biology from the University of Waterloo, but now works as a Home Builder. His unique background gives him insight into a lot of the difficulties that Manitobans are now facing.
Canada, Winnipeg in particular, has always been a land of opportunity, and Nav plans to keep it that way.
Nav strives to make Manitoban’s lives more affordable, a safer place to live and raise a family, and create an environment of prosperity for the future. Garry Alejo is the third candidate representing MLP.
