SURREY – Naad Foundation hosted the annual Remembrance in memory of a great pinnacle of Benaras Gharana, Tabla Maestro Guru Thakur Kishan Singh last Saturday.  The event was held at United Crossroads Church in Delta, B.C. at a 6:30 pm start time. It was a sweet success that held performances from students of Naad and Amarjeet Singh with a great vocalist, Gagandeep Singh with Mohan Bhide on Harmonium.

The three groups of students presented Tabla Ensembles to great applause and provided a very energetic and robust performance. The CEO of Naad Foundation, Amarjeet Singh, who is very talented and well studied in the field of Tabla, talked about the efforts and work Naad Foundation would and is doing to bring arts and education to the community and other services that are being provided. Gagandeep Singh then, with the help of Amarjeet Singh (Tabla) and Mohan Bhide (Harmonium) weaved beautiful melodies through Raags Bihaag, Kedaar, and Sohni. Many guests of various backgrounds were present for the concert and immensely enjoyed the Indian classical and applauded with zeal for encores.

Naad Foundation is a special group of its kind that not only supports the education for the community but services as well. The education they are willing to provide does not stop after classical arts (singing, performing) but extends to literature in the form of Punjabi, Urdu, and Hindi
