SURREY – Congrats to producer Aman Khatkar Productions and his team for Angrez being one of the big Punjabi film hits in 2015. It’s big bcause it’s a small (much smaller budget film) but may emerge bigger hit in terms of profit than the bloated Sardaarji. This is great news for Punjabi cinema and will encourage filmmakers and film writers to tell good stories which appeal to audiences.

The Amrinder Gill starring film is the only film not starring Daljit Dosanjh that has truly broken through with great audience response all over, including India. While Gill is a star but not on the level of Dosanjh or Gippy Grewal but Angrez is potentially a bigger hit than Dosanjh’s Sardaarji, which was driven largely by Dosanjh’s star power and not by the lack-lustre and rehashed ghost rip-off story.

It also establishes Gill as the third solid star who can open a Punjabi film alongside Dosanjh and Grewal, who, after the failure of his first Hindi film Second Hand Husband, will have to prove that he remains a star with the gimmicky double-role actioner Farrar releasing later this month.

Angrez also gives Punjabi cinema the true hope that if you want to win over audiences and box office cash, you have to tell better stories and not make so many garbage films that no one wants to see.

Due to public demand, the producers have expanded showings of Angrez  to new theaters in Guilford and Richmond. The producers have also involved the law to stop piracy of the film. The Penalty is $25000-$1,000,000.00 with 6 month in prison and if someone send them proof that stores or individuals are selling DVD’s of the movie. Producers announced a Special Reward for those giving information of those who are pirating the movie.
