A man was taken to hospital with injuries after colliding with a taxi in Surrey early Thursday morning. A taxi collided with a white sedan at the intersection of 72nd Avenue and 144 Street around 1:22 a.m., causing the sedan to flip onto its side, landing on the curb, reported CBC News. Witness Chelsea Mesenchuk said the two cars were both traveling in opposite directions on 72nd Avenue when the collision happened. Fire and Rescue crews were able to extricate the man trapped in his vehicle through the windshield. He was taken to hospital in stable condition, but with serious injuries. The driver of the taxi stayed on scene and was cooperative with police. Surrey RCMP are reviewing traffic cameras around the intersection as part of the investigation.
