Kabbadi players of team Canada and Iran in action during the Men’s Qualification Match of 3rd World Cup Kabbadi 2012 at Guru Gobind Singh Stadium on Jalandhar on 13.12.12. In the qualification match of the men’s category, Canada outsmarted Iran and won a decisive victory with a point difference of 51-35; resulting in third place in the medal tally. Dr. Mohammad Abassi, Sports Minister of Iran and Mr. Ajit Singh Kohar, Cabinet Minister Punjab formally inaugurated the match after having an introduction with the players. Mr. Chunni Lal Bhagat and Mr. Sikander Singh Maluka (both Cabinet Ministers) were the guests of honour.
Canada must be satisfied with third place whereas it was the runner up team in 2nd World Cup. At the end of 1st half Canada was leading with 27-16 points. Raiders Onkar Singh, Ravi Sarai and Kulwinder Kinda Beharipuria got 12, 9 and 7 points whereas its stopper Hardeep Tau, Kuldeep Keepa and Aman scored 8, 4 and 4 points respectively. Raiders of Iran Mohammad Alireza scores 8 points whereas its stopper Asghar bagged 7 points.
