Hindi Competition Held In Surrey

The  Hindi Literary Society of Canada, BC and Surrey Laxmi Narayan Temple(LNT)  organized Hindi Competition to celebrate the International Mother Language Day on February 14, at Surrey Mandir in which 32 students in three categories  participated.

It was an open competition in which students across the Metro Vancouver took part. Dr. Narayan Tiwari, Kanti Dwivedi and Dr. B.K Singh were the judges who declared the winners. Students were asked to speak orally, a piece of prose or poetry, in Hindi. The teachers helped the competitors in preparing the speeches.

Satish Kumar, President of LNT, Deepa Sharma, President of HLSOC Raj Bakshi, Principal of Vivek Hindi School of LNT and Shailendra Pathak of Hindi Society helped in arranging the competition. Acharya S.P. Dwivedi spearheaded the competition.

The prizes to the winners were given on February 21 at the sanctum sanctorium  of temple. At the same time Raj Bakshi was honored by the Hindi Literary Society of Canada, BC for her long and invaluable services to promoting  Hindi language. The prizes were sponsored by Narinder sharma and Pushplata Sharma
