This program caters to permanent residents who are applying for Canadian Citizenship. An introduction will be provided on topics like Canada’ History, Geography, Government and much more. Participants will learn on how to study “Discover Canada”.

When: Aug 7 to Sep 11, 2014 (Every Thursday)

Time: 1.00 pm to 2.30 pm

Fee: Free

Free Meals

Gaura Hari Karma-Free Meals Society is a registered charitable organization distributing FREE meals in the Downtown East side since 2004 March.  Pl. see the testimonials attached.  We also help in India the mentally/physically challenged children, orphans, poor young students and children in jails.  Pl. visit GHKFM.ORG for more info.

We will appreciate if you can promote our “Love & Beyond” festival to be held at Oppenheimer Park in Downtown Eastside Vancouver.  We started this festival last year and this is our 2nd one. In this we cook and distribute FREE hot meals, FREE Haircuts, Yoga sessions & Live Kirtan and Activities for kids.

Poetry Night in Punjabi, Hindi and Urdu

Tuesday, July 15, 6:30 – 8 pm

Come hear two published poets/authors read and discuss their work and answer questions from the audience.  This program is in collaboration with Kendri Punjabi Lekhak Sabha, Uttari Amrika and Punjabi Lekhak Manch – Vancouver.

The 41st annual Chariot Festival of India also known Jagannath Rath Yatra taking place in Downtown Vancouver on August 10th. This colourful and fun-filled Cultural PARADE starts at 11:30 AM from Beach ave. at Howe St. (under the Granville St Bridge) and travelling along Beach Avenue culminates at Stanley Park 2nd Beach 1:00 PM.

1.         To report and discuss the legal action for Equality and Access;

2.         To report and discuss how SOCASMA can help students improve their chances of returning to Canada.

3.         A representative from AMOC—Association for Medical Opportunities for Canadians will speak in regards to this Society formed to assist CSAs obtain observerships, rotations, research opportunities, and electives in British Columbia and other parts of Canada for the purpose of obtaining contacts and experience that will help CSAs try to come home.

Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey  invites South Asian Adults/ Seniors members and non members to attend Practical Demonstration of Healthy Cooking and Tasting Healthy Food on demand, like Cooking Sooji Ka Halwa without using any oil or Ghee & also Cooking Mixed Vegetables without using any oil or Ghee by Suky Chander of Salad Master Vancouver on July 13th 2014 ( Sunday ) from 2.00 pm to 3.30 pm at Shanti Niketan Hall of Lakshmi Narayan Temple 8321 – 140th street surrey BC.
