Members Of Old Age Benefits Forum Resolve To Continue Working To Get Benefits For Immigrant Seniors

SURREY – Members of the Old Age Benefit Forum resolved in the meeting held on September 8 to continue to the work begun by the late Harbans Singh Pawar to get the deserved benefits for immigrant seniors.

They passed these resolutions:

1) Continue struggle for equal treatment of all Canadian Seniors will continue on the path shown by late Harbans Singh Pawar, the founding president of Old Age Benefit Forum.

2) All members will approach their respective MP’s to support the cause of equal treatment.

3) All members of Old Age Benefit Forum will complete the organ donation forms. In view of the UN eye donation day, all eligible members Old Age Benefit Forum agree to donate their eyes.

4) They passed a motion congratulating Libby Davies, Member Parliament Vancouver East for bring up the motion before the house of commons for the grant of pensions on equal basis to all Canadian Seniors. Meeting also requested other member Parliament to join hands with Libby Davies

It was approved that Gurvinder Singh Dhaliwal will be Sr Vice President, Mr M.S Dhaliwal and Afzal Malik will be Vice presidents, Balwinder Singh Chahal as Secretary and Kulwant Singh Minhas as Treasurer.

Meeting passed a resolution paying tribute to late Jack Layton, Federal NDP leader who always raised a strong voice for equal and fair treatment of all Canadian Seniors so that Canada can serve as an example for the world.

The next meeting of the forum will be held on October 10, 2011 at 11:30 AM, in Grand Taj Banquet Hall, Surrey, BC, Canada. All are invited to attend and support the cause of equal treatment of all Canadian seniors.
