The first ever Miss Fiji Canada Competitions will be held during the 2015 Fiji Day Celebration at the Royal King Palace, Surrey, BC. The Show will include:– Competitions & Awards for Miss Fiji Canada– Entertainment– Dinner Most importantly, Miss Fiji Canada is truly honored to have for the very first time in Canada, Honorable Prime Minister of Fiji, Rear Admiral Josaia Voreqe Bainimarama and Maria Bainimarama join us on August 7th 2015at Miss Fiji Canada Beauty Pageant & Red Carpet Charity Gala as our Guests of Honor. $50.00 per person or $25.00 children ages 7 – 15.  NO TICKETS WILL BE AVAILABLE AT THE DOOR. Are you a newcomer to Canada who needs help adjusting to your new life?  Free and confidential services are offered to help newcomers – with all their needs – during the process of settling into their new community.  Settlement and Integration Services are free for immigrants, refugees and their families in BC (valid permanent resident cards should be presented at the time of service).  Canadian Citizens and Temporary Foreign Workers will be referred to options Settlement Service Office.  Offered in partnership with PICS.

Next PICS Self-Employment Program

Progressive Intercultural Community Services (PICS) Society will deliver the next PICS Self-Employment Program in September 2015. Through this initiative, PICS would be supporting potential entrepreneurs in Delta and Surrey.

Selected clients may be eligible to receive up to $300 per week for 48 weeks. For more information as to how individuals may access PICS Self-Employment Program, please attend an information session at PICS Head Office as below:

Movies Under The Stars!

Put down those phones and tablets, turn off those TVs, and bring the family to Holland Park in Surrey every Saturday in August! The Downtown Surrey Business Improvement Association is proud to announce that Movies Under the Stars is growing this year thanks to generous support from Prospera Credit Union. The 11th Annual Movies Under the Stars will be marked by the addition of a fifth movie night! There’s a fun-filled, family-friendly movie line-up planned this summer. Wreck-It Ralph starts off the summer movie series at Holland Park on Saturday, August 1, followed by Home on August 8, How to Train Your Dragon 2 on August 15, Cinderella on August 22 and Big Hero 6 wraps up the summer on August 29.

Vedic Seniors Parivar Centre of Vedic Hindu Cultural Society Surrey invites South Asian Senior members to come and join, to get an unforgettable experience of our unique & favourable pot luck held every year, to be held on July 25th 2015 ( Saturday ) from 11.00 am to 2.30 pm. You will be stunned to see the variety of home made dishes prepared by the members [ vegetable snacks, vegetable South Asian dishes and mouth watering desserts ].
