SOUTH VANCOUVER – Writers International Network (WIN) Canada Society invites you to submit names of poets, writers, painters, dancers and artists for recognition. These awards are based on Dr. Asha Bhargava belief in the value of recognition which is grounded in an Italian proverb that goes: “Ti Voglio Bene“ i.e. “I want what is best for you.”

Dr. Bhargava would often remind people that, “no one ever said, life was going to be easy…while we never recall ever choosing to be born, we learn to seek the truest purpose of our “Being,” that which ends with the beginning of the noblest art of creativity.” She believed that there is a God and He is good. This idea we pursue here at WIN because there is that “goodness” in creativity and it needs to be recognized and celebrated.

Dr. Bhargava was a testimony to this goodness. The “good” she spoke of is that which the life giving force we hold on to so dearly. Nothing even in the most difficult of situation can alter it and no one can take away the love that sees us through it all therefore let there be peace that begins with us.

Dr Asha Bhargava was a compassionate and  pragmatic person blessed with a tender heart that instinctively knew what to say and when to reach out. Her gentleness and sagacity was powerful and enlightening. These awards will keep the ideas that she believed in alive.

Dr. Asha Bhargava awards recognize individuals and organizations that demonstrate a commitment to creative writing, visual and performing arts. These awards are a unique opportunity to recognize poets, writers and artists who have demonstrated a significant and sustained commitment to create and promote literature and art.
