“I’m A F**king Racist. I’ll Blow Your f**king Country Up,” The Racist Woman Had Told The Victim Before Punching Her!

SURREY – The large sized racist woman who had attacked a South Asian protestor at the Cloverdale Rodeo recently after abusing her with racist epithets will face charges, according to police.

Police have interviewed the Langley woman, who has been identified as Jennifer Johansen, behind the racial verbal attack and will be recommending charges of assault to Crown Counsel.

Johansen does not have a previous criminal record, but approached an animal rights protestor, who is known only as Shukria, at 4 p.m. on Saturday, May 18, shouting racial slurs at her.

The protestor had been holding a sign “Rodeo… where coward boys have fun.”

Johansen took offense to the sign and began shouting at the protestor, who began filming the episode for 47 seconds.

The woman also didn’t like the colour of the protester’s skin.

“I like the colour you are because it comes out of my ass,” she says in the video.

This is what  Johansen said before she punched the South Asian woman Shukria: “I’m a f**king racist. I’ll blow your f**king country up.”

Shukria, 27, who posted the incident to the video sharing website Youtube, wrote that her alleged assailant didn’t like a sign she was carrying.

“She called me racist names, spat on my face, then grabbed me by my hair punched me and kicked me,” the victim wrote.

The victim complained of neck and head pain, as well as dizziness, but drove herself to hospital.

Police said last week they were deeply concerned about what they see in the YouTube video.

“Concerning, not only the allegations of assault that took place after the video ends, but also the racial slurs this person was subjected to was just unacceptable,” said Surrey RCMP Cpl. Bert Paquet.

He couldn’t say whether the incident would meet the threshold of a hate crime.

“It’s definitely a contributing factor to the assault,” Paquet said. “It is something we are looking at in our investigation.”

“I was protesting the cloverdale rodeo may 18/13 and this lady did not like my sign,” she wrote below her video. “She called me racist names, spat on my face, then grabbed me by my hair punched me and kicked me.”

Shukria, a young woman from Surrey who can be heard goading Johansen with comments like “Come here, hit me…”, has made these videos before including one recent incident at Mud Bay Park.

“It’s 2013, and there’s still racism out there. It’s Canada and we’re still dealing with this. It’s upsetting,” said Shukria.
