Surinder Sanghera Begins His New Waves Era With The Glorious Satinder Sartaaj Show

SURREY – Veteran promoter Surinder Sanghera (formerly of Music Waves and now New Waves Productions) has more than 30 concerts of every genre under his belt.

So to mark the new era under his new company, he’s going big and elegant with one of the most anticipated shows of this year – the Satinder Sartaaj show which will be on June 2 at the Queen Elizabeth Theatre.

One of the original promoters of Punjabi/Indian concerts, Sanghera has been in this business for more than 25 years with a great track record of family and community-cultural shows.

“I wanted to start off with a bang and there is no better show than Satinder Sartaaj to begin with,” he told the LINK. “It’s a classy, elegant show for music lovers and the response has been phenomenal. Sartaaj is the ‘Sold Out King’ and I think he’s going to do it this time as well.”

To describe the live concert experience of Satinder Sartaaj is to imagine an oasis, to go to a heavenly ethereal place as he delights the audience with sweet, melodious voice and stage persona that is a cross between Mozart and Manilow!

Sartaaj sings in his own style, Punjabi culture lives in the writings of this personality, his sufi thoughts goes deep in his poetry, everyone gets lost in his composition. Once he starts the concert, everyone gets glued to their seats and remain transfixed, taken to a place of immense beauty and musical heaven.

After completing his Graduation and Diploma Satinder went to Panjab University Campus at Chandigarh for Masters in Music. With blessing of Parents he done M.Phil. and Ph.D. with the Specialisation of Sufi Music.

To understand the deep thoughts of Sufi Poetry Satinder completed the Certificate Course and Diploma in Persian (Farsi) Language. During this time he started writing Poetry and make his poetic name (Tkhallus) SARTAAJ. Now Dr. Satinder Sartaaj is Teaching at the Deptt. of Music, Panjab University Chandigarh for the last six years.

Sartaaj says that “Sufi Music connects me with God, insisting that of late he has developed a passion for Poetry but nowadays it’s more of Poetry than anything else.” An ardent lover of nature, Sartaaj has dedicated several of his compositions to Nature because from the beginning he was drawn the beauty and fragrance of flowers, rainbows, tranquil flow of the water creating rhythmic pattern.
