ABOHAR – A woman in a village near Hanumangarh “ended her life after poisoning her three children”. While one of them died on the spot, two of them are in a critical condition. She was reportedly “upset” over her husband’s “behaviour”.
The police said neighbours had found Guddi Kanwer (27) and her 10-month-old daughter Kanchan dead while son Kishore (2) and daughter Komal (3) were found in a serious state in their house in Parasneu village.
A bottle of insecticide was reportedly found near the victims. They were shifted to a government hospital but doctors declared Guddi and Kanchan brought dead and arranged ambulance to shift Kishore and Komal to Bikaner.
Shiv Singh of Bhompura village said Guddi was married to Prahlad Kanwer in 2011. She had been allegedly complaining of torture by her husband whenever he consumed liquor. Efforts made to coax Prahlad to give up alcohol had proved futile, Shiv Singh said. Prahlad has been booked. — OC
