Fans of both Rajinikanthand Kamal Haasan have beenwaiting to see the two superstarsre-unite on screen butthe actor-filmmaker says theircoming together for a filmwould be a costly affair.They have done a fewfilms together in the earlystages of their career, notablyApoorva Raagangal, whichwas the breakthrough filmfor Haasan and the debutfilm of Rajinikanth.
Whenasked about him teaming upwith Rajinikanth again,Haasan said, “Working withRajinikanth is a costly question.If both of us starredtogether, there would be nomoney to make the film! Ifwe have a lot of money,maybe then we can star in afilm together.”Remakes and sequels arethe order of the day,
but askhim about revisiting his oldhits like Sadma and Ek DujeKe Liye, Haasan says he won’tfit into those films anymore.”There are talks aboutmaking a part two of ‘Sadma’,where the female protagonistremembers him and comesback, but I don’t think I wouldfit into the hero’s role anymore.Moreover, a tragedy isbest left at that, it is a tragedybecause she doesn’t return,”said Haasan. The 58-year-oldactor is currently gearing upfor the release of his new bigbudgetedthriller Viswaroop, torelease on January 11.
Haasan has written, directedand acted in the film, whichalso stars Pooja Kumar, RahulBose, Andrea Jeremiah andJaideep Ahlawat.”It is a fast-paced thrillerwith an international subject. Itis very different from all thefilms that are being made in thegenre of terrorism and spythrillers. The way we havemade the film is different,” saidHaasan. The film will was shotsimultaneously in Tamil andHindi and also stars filmmakerShekhar Kapur in a specialrole.
“Shekhar and I have beendiscussing about making a filmtogther. When I asked him tobe a part of ‘Viswaroop’, hewent about with the enthusiasmof an amateur and workedon this film,” Haasan said at anevent. “We are also shooting asecond part of the film, whichwill be out soon,” he added.
