Asa Johal Auditorium Opens!

Link Columnist Balwant Sanghera was on hand last Friday at the inaugurationof the local lumber business pioneer Asa Singh Johal Auditorium at theGovernment Girls Senior Secondary School at Jandiala, Punjab. Other localIndo-Canadians included Balbir Jawanda and Sohan Basi. Balbir and Sohanhave done a lot of work in this regard and the inauguration ceremony. AsaJohal has committed more than 80 Lac rupees (approximately $150,000)towards the auditorium. Indeed it is a great credit to Johal and his family. Theschool has 750 students . The school principal Jit Singh Virk told Sanghera thatthis school is one of the largest and most popular girls’ school in the area. Theinauguration was attended bya large number of prominent people both fromJandiala and Canada.
