Indians Go On Maximum Business Trips: Survey

NEW DELHI – Indian employees are globalleaders when it comes to business travelwith over 40 percent going on at least fivetrips annually, a survey revealed here.”Forty-four percent Indians, followed by 39percent of people from Thailand are frequentbusiness travellers, who are takingmore than five trips a year,” said the surveyby online travel portal Expedia.com.Future of Travel – an analysis of behaviourand preferences among employed adultsaged 18 and above, was conducted onlinebetween Aug 20 and Sep 12, among over8,500 respondents in 24 countries.Indians at 34 percent are second highestglobal leisure travelers after Thailand, where39 percent of the people indulge in this categoryof travel.”The survey shows a clear progression ofIndian travelers with respect to increasingnumber of trips annually, both business andleisure,” said Vikram Malhi, general manager,south and southeast Asia, Expedia.Indian business travelers are among themost likely to splurge during business tripscompared to others, he added.The survey also revealed that 92 percent ofIndians use a smart phone or a tablet forpersonal or business reasons, higher thanthe global average of 75 percent.
