Samsung Launches World’s First Curved Screen Smartphone

NEW DELHI – The South Korean manufacturerSamsung had presented theworld with a Smartphone with curved display,the first of its kind.Samsung’s new innovativeproduct is a variant of GalaxyNote and the gadget can bethought to be the first steptaken by the company to producingwearable devices withflexible and unbreakablescreen.This new Galaxy Round is thought tosteer Samsung ahead in the innovation warwith other market players such as Appleand LG Electronics. “It’s a step forwardfor having unbreakable gadgets and flexibledevices eventually. But for now, thenew phone is more of a symbolic product,”said Hana Daetoo Securities analystNam Dae-jong.Other than its curved design, the gadgetdoes not sport any eye catching features.Samsung said that theGalaxy round’s curvedshape will give more gripand ease of handling comparedto other flat-screenmodels.The only outstanding featureof the gadget is its tiltfunctionthat allows users to check messagesand missed call information evenwhen the home screen is off. Scrollingthrough the media files can be done withjust a press on the right or left of thescreen. Lack of technologies to manufacturedisplay panels that are thin and heatresistantposes a main challenge for massproduction of the device.
