END TEACHERS STRIKE!

SURREY – After successfully holding their first walk on Wednesday called “Walk For Half Million BC Kids’ Education” , the Indo-Canadian community group is holding their second walk this Sunday September 7th at 5:00 pm at Holland Park (13428 Old yale Road, Surrey, BC).

Parents and concerned individuals are asking the entire city to join them again for a walk to ask the Government that schools should be reopened within a week. They further ask for a BC school system that “enable all learners to  become literate, to develop their individual potential and to acquire the knowledge, skills and attitude needed to contribute to a healthy, democratic and pluralistic society and a prosperous and sustainable economy”, as dictated in the School Act of BC Ministry of Education.

Event will be held outdoors. Guests are encouraged to bring their children along and be dressed warmly. They ask guests to show their support by brining banners or signs that include positive messages to promote negotiation for a quick resolution.

More information on the event can be found on our Facebook page, “Second walk for our half a million BC kids’ education” or by contacting 604-245-0779 or Meera Gill at [email protected].
