VADODARA – An accused NRI woman, who had alleged last week that she had been raped in CID custody, refused to provide any details to police in this case demanding an FIR to be registered first, police said.

A police team led by Parikshita Rathod, DCP (Zone V), accompanied by a videographer and members of an NGO from Ahmedabad met the accused woman.

The woman, a US citizen, accused in a case of land grabbing, had alleged on Saturday that four persons, including a state CID (Crime) police inspector had raped her in custody earlier this year.

She alleged that the rape was meant to intimidate her into signing documents related to land worth crores of rupees “that would settle a case”.

The woman told the investigating team, that she would not reply to their queries unless an FIR of rape was registered against the four persons, she has mentioned in her complaint.

“There are five rooms in the CID office premises and we wanted to know, in which room the crime was committed,” Rathoda said.

The woman maintained that her complaint gave all the details and demanded FIR against the officials.

According to Rathod, the woman said that she would move to the high court if the FIR was not registered against the CID officials and others mentioned in her complaint. “Details on queries sought from this NRI woman are needed before taking further actions in this case,” he said.

The NRI woman, accussed of forging records to acquire a piece of land in Vadodara district, had been released on bail in the land-grabbing case.
