The Global Hindu Foundation of Canada (GHF) has been distributing gifts of Diwali— fresh sweets and snacks to the service providers of Surrey Hospital for last seven years. This year on 9th November from 1.00 to 2.30 PM the volunteers of the organization distributed gifts to more than 400 guests. The founding president—Acharya S.P.Dwivedi conveyed the warm greetings of Diwali and emphasised that the Goddess Laxmi (Giver of material prosperity) dwells permanently only in those homes where people are hard working and she doesn’t visit those homes where lethargic and idle people live. Dwivedi also presided over annual Diwali celebrations at Surrey City Hall, where Mayor Dianne Watts help light the Diwali Lights.
