DELTA, BC: The Guru Nanak Food Bank Delta branch hosted a delegation of 51 students from Japan on March 27, 2024. The students showed great interest in learning about the operations of the food bank and were keen to understand how it operates seven days a week with minimal government support.

Gyani Narinder Singh, the Founder and President of the Guru Nanak Food Bank, along with the staff and volunteers, welcomed the delegation and conducted a comprehensive tour of the facilities.

Singh took the opportunity to explain the workings of the food bank and shed light on Sikh fundamentals, enriching the visitors’ understanding of the community’s values.

The visit to the food bank was coordinated by Secretary Neeraj Walia, whose absence, due to ongoing travel in India, did not diminish the seamless execution of the visit. Led by their group leader, the Japanese students expressed their deep appreciation and astonishment at the exemplary services rendered by the Guru Nanak Food Bank.

As a gesture of hospitality, the food bank arranged lunch for all the guests and presented special certificates to each student, personally handed out by Narinder Singh Walia. This marks the first time that an international delegation has visited the Guru Nanak Food Bank, showcasing its growing recognition on a global scale.

President Narinder Singh Walia extended his gratitude to all the students and teachers for choosing to visit the Guru Nanak Food Bank.
