Stabbing in King George Boulevard bus leaves 17 year olddead

A stabbing incident in King George Blvd at 100th Avenue has left one dead.

On April 11, 2023, at approximately 9:28 p.m., Surrey RCMP responded to a report of an assault with a weapon on a bus in the 9900-block of King George Boulevard. 

A 17-year-old youth suffering from life threating injuries was transported to hospital and succumbed to his injuries.

Initial investigation has revealed that an altercation occurred between two individuals riding a Coast Mountain Bus, resulting in the male victim being stabbed.  Officers are conducting neighbourhood canvassing and are speaking with several witnesses to obtain further information.

The investigation is still in its early stages, but according to police, initial indications are that this incident is not related to the LMD Gang Conflict or a stabbing on a bus on April 1, 2023 in Surrey.

South bound lanes on King George Boulevard from 100th Avenue to 98A Avenue were closed for an undermined amount of time, and travellers are asked to use alternate routes.
